Counselor's Corner

Counselor’s Corner!

Welcome to the new school year!  My name is Kristina Stacey and I am the School Counselor for Carrolltowne.  There are many ways in which I may work with your child throughout the school year.  Here is some additional information regarding the school counseling office:

  • School counseling is short term and meant to help students who have a school/home concern that is affecting them academically.  For long term, family, and/or issues that are happening at home only, I can provide you with a list of mental health counselors in the area and other resources.
  • Each homeroom class will receive one monthly classroom counseling lesson on different topics that are data driven and need based.  At the end of each monthly lesson, students will have a letter from me stating what they learned that day so you can extend their learning at home.
  • Attendance is important and 94% is the expectation for CCPS.  I am aware that children may be reluctant to come to school because of anxiety or other emotional concerns.  If this is the case and you want or need support from the school, please contact me.
  • Recently, we have seen an increase of parents stating their child will be taking a “mental health day”.  Please know that we take the mental health of our students seriously.  Our administrative assistants will forward me this information and I will be in contact with you to see how I can assist as well as checking with your child when they return.
  • My office hours are Monday-Friday from 8:45 – 4:15.  I can be contacted by calling the school at 410-751-3530 or  Please understand that my caseload is over 650 students so it may take me 24-48 hours to return your call/email.
